The catalytic converter is an anti-pollution system that converts toxic exhaust gases into non-toxic gases. It can contain several monoliths, ceramic or metallic, to compensate for the expansion due to the high temperatures of exhaust gases.
The outer structure of the catalytic converter is stainless steel. It contains the "honeycomb" core coated with rare metals such as Palladium, Platinum and Rhodium that help reduce exhaust pollutants. These metals constitute the value of the catalytic converters we buy, which is why our buyback offers vary according to the references of the catalytic converters and the price of metals.
The particulate filter (DPF) is designed to clean toxic gas emissions through combustion. Also made up of a honeycomb structure, it works after the catalytic converter to eliminate remaining fine particles.
